A Compression Spring is an open-coil helical spring that offers resistance to a compressive force applied axially. They may be cylindrical, conical, barrel shaped, or concave in form. There are four different end types for a compression spring; the most common being closed and ground. Other end types include closed only, open only, and open and ground.
