Tinmy autoparts is Proven Durability and Proven Quality

Proven Durability
Triangle trailer leaf springs have been tested to a fatigue life of more than 160,000 cycles following TTMA recommended practice RP32-92. The results were reported by a major U.S. trailer manufacturer to be “consistently higher that the averages we experienced from previous testing…for comparative purposes…the springs…will perform equal to, or better than, any other springs which have been previously tested.”
Proven Quality
Over 10 years of experience in designing and manufacturing heavy duty springs go into every specification and spring we make. At Triangle Spring, all of our springs are manufactured to one set of specifications, whether it is for OE or the aftermarket, so you can trust Triangle to protect your investment.
Our manufacturing locations throughout North America assure you of ample supply at the lowest cost. And to ensure consistent quality, all manufacturing and distribution facilities are ISO 9001:2000 Registered – recognized world wide as the significant quality credential. So when you buy Triangle, you not only get OE quality, you also get consistent performance every time.

  • Leaves are properly aligned to one another, both laterally and vertically.\
  • No excessive gaps between leaves and no excessive scaling on the top leaf.
  • Coated with corrosion protection.
  • Leaf Spring leaves must be properly stepped for the most efficient load carrying weight ratios. If the leaves are the same thickness, the steps should be equal.
  • Eye bushing checked for roundness. Elliptical bushing may indicate an improperly formed eye, or excessive reaming of metal bushings during manufacture.
  • Center bolt head acts as a locating dowel during spring installation. For underslung springs, the head should be adjacent to the main leaf. In overslung springs, the head should be located at the center of the spring width.
  • Before the eye is rolled, the end of the spring plate is cut at an angle to provide a smooth fit between the plate end and the spring leaf to help prevent leaves from binding up in the hanger, or shackle, when installed on your vehicle.

Buy Newewst Leaf Springs From Tinmy

Buying New Leaf Springs From Tinmy

In every market there is competition in which one or two companies usually separates themselves from the rest. The leaf spring industry is no different so we are going to list a few benefits of choosing Tinmy Spring from our competitors. One of the most obvious reasons is price in which we will always be competitive and are usually the best priced on the market but there is a lot more to us than price alone.

Here at Tinmy we actually stock many of the leaf spring in house and are not just drop shippers. There are multiple advantages to this process so let's explain a few of them. First, we physically check the product before they actually ship out to verify there is no damage and all of the little stuff such as tip inserts and arch as they are supposed to be. Second, we can have the leaf springs designed exactly to either our or OEM specifications so when we can improve on OEM we take this opportunity to do so. One major modification we do to almost all of our truck leaf springs is have them built with metal riveted clips with clip bolts to give you the extra strength on the clips and which eliminates the possibility of squeaking from this section of the spring. Third, this gives us the power to have custom leaf springs built such as heavy duty or high arch to meet your exact needs because not everyone is after the same capacity or height.

Here at Tinmy Spring we do the little things that make a difference as well such as stamp GSC in a lot of our products just to say we're proud of what we sell and we back it 100 percent. Another major advantage is all of our manufacturers are full members of the Spring Research Institute (SRI). This means they have very strict guidelines on how a spring is to be built and are not allowed to cut corners which guarantees a high quality leaf spring which not only meets but exceeds OEM standards. All SRI companies are also located in North America meaning when you buy from Tinmy Spring you will not receive leaf springs from overseas such as US,UK,Austrailer, Taiwan, India, Malaysia or elsewhere.

Tinmy Spring has been in business since 2005 and we have learned a lot about suspensions along the way thanks to you our customer! As you can see we have a pretty big advantage on our leaf springs vs the others thanks to everyone's input which we take very seriously so thank you for choosing Tinmy Spring as your business is very much appreciated.

Here at Tinmy Leaf Spring Product Making

Here at Tinmy Leaf Spring ,we custom handcraft each set of springs to suit your vehicle's particular characteristics--weight, modifications, accessories, towing needs, cargo needs, etc.-- and to fulfill your ride-quality and ride-height (lifted, stock or lowered) desires. We believe that no mass produced, off-the-shelf spring can equal the ride quality, suitability and durability of a true custom spring.
Here's how we make them...

We start with flat bars of top-quality high-carbon spring steel. Tinmy Spring's start-to-finish custom process allows us to choose varied width, thickness and flex characteristics according to customer needs.  A leaf spring pack often contains two or more different leaf thicknesses.

After we cut the flat spring-steel bars to length, a special furnace heats the main-leaf ends red hot. Then we roll the eyes using precise dies. The gray furnace scale falls away as the heat strengthens and tempers the steel.

The heat-treatment process is very important in controlling the consistency of the spring pack's strength and durability. And the hands-on process means that every leaf is constantly inspected for quality.

Each customer's spring order is processed and each leaf-pack is hand-formed by itself. That is, we don't make piles of generic individual leaves and then stick them together later. Every pair of Tinmy Springs is made to match in every way, right down to the shaping of the leaves, to putting them together, and even to the final painting.

Tinmy Springs can be made with tough military wrap eyes (left) and bolted keepers for hardcore, super-flexy applications.
And all Tinmy Springs feature diamond-cut leaves and Derlin anti-friction pads between the leaves.

At Tinmy Spring, we use only top-quality Prothane poly bushings.  And we can make custom U-bolts in any size and shape you need and trailer leaf springs

At Tinmy Spring, we build springs the old-fashioned way--we build them by hand and we build them right, just the way you want them. This true custom process takes a little longer and costs a little more than buying mass-produced springs off the shelf. But we--and our many customers--believe that the better end product is well worth it.

Installation Tips
Check your leaf spring selection to ensure you have the correct spring for your intended application. When fitting, the Military Wrap end of the leaf spring is always fitted to the fixed pin chassis mount point. (exception: Nissan MQ Patrol). Some Tinmy leaf springs are marked D/S (Drivers Side) and P/S (Passenger Side). If springs are not marked, a quick way to distinguish between the two is: turn them up and rest on spring eyes along side each other. Push down in the centre of each to settle free camber, and pick the highest of the pair. The higher free camber spring is fitted to the drivers side of the vehicle. This is to offset the weight of the driver in many cases. It is also advisable to check center-bolts on spring before installation. New high tensile Tinmy  U-Bolts and deep nuts must be used when fitting Tinmy  leaf springs.
IMPORTANT: U-Bolts must be checked regularly and re-tensioned for maximum leaf spring life. After fitment of Tinmy  leaf springs, U-bolts must be re-tensioned after 500km with vehicle fully laden. Failure to do so may void Tinmy leaf spring warranty. Tinmy recommend all U-bolts be checked regularly (at normal service intervals) and re-tensioned if required. Torque settings are available upon request.

Things to Consider When Buying Leaf Springs

Lousy suspension can lead to a bumpy ride and a banged up vehicle. Furthermore, it can also be very problematic when you’re towing heavy cargo, which may sway and bounce as you cruise along. Fortunately, our ancestors passed on to us a revolutionary invention to help us deal with such problems: the trailer leaf springs. This suspension component helps in stabilizing your vehicle and in providing excellent suspension for your tow vehicle. Leaf springs come in different varieties, so it’s best that you know what you’re dealing with before buying a replacement leaf springs.

Types of Leaf Springs

Monoleaf Springs
Otherwise known as single-leaf springs, monoleaf springs are made with only one plate of spring steel. You can identify this type of leaf spring by looking at its design; it’s usually thick in the middle then thins out toward the end. This component boosts suspension performance but doesn’t really offer much strength when dealing with towed vehicles.
Multileaf Springs
Now these are the bad boys we recommend for hauling heavy loads. Multileaf springs consist of many springs of varying length. These springs are stacked on top of each other and provide ample support and strength for managing hefty trailers.

Leaf Spring Ends

Double-eye Leaf Springs
These springs have top plates that have their ends curved into a circle. These ends make two holes that you can hook up to your trailer’s bottom frame. These are recommended only for medium utility duty applications (less than 7,000 lbs).
Open-eye Leaf Springs
These springs only have one “eye” or open hole, with its other side coming in the form of either a hook end or a flat end. This type of spring is highly beneficial because it requires you to maintain only one mounting point, and it can withstand light to heavy duty loads.

Tinmy  3" Drop Rear Leaf Spring Faq
Q: Can any vehicle use leaf springs?A: Only vehicles that utilize factory leaf springs would be able to incorporate replacement aftermarket leaf springs.
Q: What are leaf springs? Why buy leaf springs?
A: Trailer Leaf springs consist of several layers of metal "leaves" which are bound together to act as a single unit. They the primary suspension component used for the rear of most trucks, and are built to support heavy loads. Buying new lowering leaf springs allows you to lower the rear of your truck, since they are built with a different spring rate or leaf setup than factory springs. There are a number of ways to lower the rear of your truck, and buying new leaf springs one of the popular ways to do this. For an extreme drop of your truck, many people buy new leaf springs and a block kit, both of which add to the total amount of drop.

How to replace the leaf springs in the Ford Series

Ford has produced a number of  F-Series trucks, which all have a number of mechanical similarities. These steps have been specifically designed to replace the springs on the Ford F-150 leaf springs , and are simple enough for the novice to the appropriate equipment to perform in an hour or less
Directions
1
Lift the Ford F-150, and then the safety stands, then remove the wheel and the closest to the spring you want to replace the tire. Support the rear axle with a jack or equivalent.
2
Remove the nuts securing springs U-bolts; remove the U-bolts and spring plate. You will find a spring spacer 4 × 4 models should also be deleted. Then lower the axle housing to give you enough room to remove the leaf spring
3
Bracket screw bolt chassis front leaf spring, then remove the spring (rear) and bracket bolt. Take a leaf spring on the vehicle and replace it with a new one; Insert the bolt to the chassis and the rear spring shackle bolt and tighten to 73-97 lb-ft of torque.
4
Align the housing axle with leaf spring; carefully lift, always maintained a jack. Install the strut spring (4 × 4 models),  Trailer Leaf Spring U-bolts and U-bolt nuts. Tighten the nuts to 73-97 lb-ft of torque.

Install Add-A-Leaf and helper for tinmy

Sometimes you just need a sheet for additional cargo capacity to add. Our leaf springs  kits are extra blades for light trucks, vans, commercial vehicles, recreational and utility vehicles and are equipped with conical springs full of leaves to the front or rear of the vehicle. All kits leaves Dayton addition are fully packed with all the hardware and U-bolts for mounting necessary. Tuff Country Add Leafs will come with a center pin and either use the factory u-bolts or require a bracket kit must be purchased separately.
Adding a  trailer leaf  springs to your spring plate is very similar, just improve your sources. You are only a lot of support for your spring production is the ability to substantially greater spring. Many kits we sell Add capacity of leaf springs to provide the correct spring HD up carrier. The kits are available for Dodge Ram, Chevrolet Silverado, Jeep and other models.
Warning: Try a source of rejuvenation, unless an additional cone sheet designed NOT "building" for this purpose. If you have questions about this, add a leaf kits have please contact us.

Add-A-Leaf springs vs
What is the difference between a kit add-a-leaf springs and? Both of you get up load support to food. Some Add-a-leaf kits fit between the leaf springs and leaf rebound throughout the spring support will be mounted on springs. Springs that Hellwig EZ-990 will allow your level Chevy Silverado or Ford F150 and prevent sagging or swaying while driving. We recommend them to anyone looking for a faster installation and less expensive solution.
The main difference between an add-a-leaves and additional sources is an add-a-leaf will give a constant rate, while the additional springs are you constant and progressive. What is the progressive rate? Means the gradual that your truck must be loaded and compressed the leaf springs to activate the Hellwig helper spring rates. If the load in your truck increases the auxiliary spring will gradually increase its load capacity.
Install Add-A-Leaf
Installation is fairly simple when it comes to inserting the add-a-leaf in the spring to existing blades. They are lifting up your truck to start removing the tire and rest the vehicle on jack stands. Remove Unscrew the bolts of the lower U-bolts and shock absorber on each side of the axis. In our car, we were a great add-a-leaf added so that we ensure that there is sufficient distance between the set of sheets and plate spring. This is where the add-a-leaf will. Then the clip package safely, remove the center pin of the plant, insert the add-a-leaves, then the new kingpin in the spring of overloading the plant. Install the remaining parts. That's it. Installation can be difficult on some trucks and may take several hours to be so.They trailer leaf springs

Add a Leaf Kits vs Helper Springs and install

Sometimes you just need to add a leaf for some additional load capacity. Our extra leaf springs  kits are for light duty trucks, vans, utility vehicles, motorhomes and mini buses and come equipped with full taper leaf springs for the front or rear of your vehicle. All Dayton Add a Leaf kits are packaged complete with all necessary hardware and U-bolts for installation. Tuff Country Add a Leafs will come with a center pin and will either utilize factory u-bolts or require a u-bolts kit to be purchased separately.
Adding a leaf to your leaf spring is very similar to simply upgrading your springs. You are essentially adding another level of support to your spring which is making the spring capacity greater. Many of the add a leaf kits we sell will bring the spring capacity to the exact level of an HD spring for that very vehicle. Kits are available for the Dodge Ram, Chevy Silverado, Jeep and other models.
Warning: DO NOT attempt to “build up” a taper spring unless using an extra taper leaf specifically designed for that purpose. If you have any questions regarding these add a leaf kits please contact us.
add leaf
Add-A-Leaf vs Helper Springs
What is the difference between an Add-A-Leaf Kit and Helper Springs? Both will give you lift while supplying load support. Some Add-A-Leaf kits will mount between the leaf springs and the rebound leaf whereas all helper spring will mount onto the springs. Helper Springs like the Hellwig EZ-990 will help keep your Chevy Silverado or Ford F150 level and prevent it from sagging or swaying when driving. We would recommend them for anyone who is looking for a quicker installation and a cheaper solution.
The one main difference between add-a-leafs and helper springs is an add-a-leaf will give you a constant rate while helper springs will give you constant and progressive. What is progressive rate? The progressive rate means that your truck must be loaded and the leaf springs compresses in order to activate the Hellwig helper spring. When the load in your truck increases the helper spring will progressively increase its resistance to the load.
Add-A-Leaf Install
Install is rather easy when it comes to inserting the add-a-leaf into your existing leaf spring. You will begin by jacking your truck up, removing the tire and resting the vehicle onto jack stands. Remove the lower shock bolt and unbolt the U-bolts on each side of the axle. On our vehicle we were adding a large add-a-leaf so we made sure there was enough clearance between the leaf pack and the spring perch. This is where the add-a-leaf will go. Then clamp the pack securely, remove the factory centering pin, insert the add-a-leaf and then place the new centering pin through the factory overload spring. Reinstall the remaining parts. That’s it. Installation can be tricky on some trucks and can take a few hours to do so.They are trailer leaf springs

How to choose Trailer leaf springs

Compared to most automotive technology currently available, leaf springs don't look too fancy. They're simply long and narrow plates attached to the frame of a trailer that rest above or below the trailer's axle. Slightly curved, they look a little like a metal bow from an archery set, except without the string.
Trailer Leaf springs come in several different varieties. There are monoleaf springs, or single-leaf springs, that consist of simply one plate of spring steel. These are usually thick in the middle and taper out toward the end, and they don't typically offer too much strength and suspension for towed vehicles. Drivers looking to tow heavier loads typically use multileaf springs, which consist of several leaf springs of varying length stacked on top of each other. The shorter the leaf spring, the closer to the bottom it will be, giving it the same semielliptical shape a single leaf spring gets from being thicker in the middle.
Leaf springs also have different ends, depending on where they're connected to the frame. On double-eye leaf springs, the top plate -- and therefore the longest -- has both ends curved into a circle. The ends make two holes, which you can bolt to the bottom of a trailer's frame. Open-eye leaf springs have only one "eye," or open hole. The other end of an open eye leaf spring can be a hook end or a flat end.

Tinmy Talks About the Nissan Leaf Spring problem

Earlier this week we covered the Nissan leaf spring breakage issue, and today we’ll talk about our conversation with Tinmy Lin of leafspringforsale.com about this same issue. Bryan is an expert on Toyota suspension systems – and off-road truck suspensions in general – and he was able to provide us with some insider details about the Tacoma leaf spring problem.
Q. Do All Tacoma Springs Have the Same Problem?
One of the first things we asked Lin was whether all Tacoma owners should be concerned about the quality and ruggedness of their stock leaf springs. Bryan told us that for daily use, most Tacoma drivers will be fine, but that anyone who regularly tows or hauls must keep an eye on their springs to make sure that they aren’t developing any problems. In particular, Bryan said that leafspringforsale.com sells more left and right leaf springs for the 1998-2000 Tacoma with four-wheel drive, indicating that that particular build range might be more prone to problems.
Why Do They Break?
Broken-Tacoma-Leaf-Spring-and-Rusty-Frame-500x312
In Bryan’s opinion, the reason that Nissan springs are breaking Trailer Leaf springs more often than those found on other trucks that are used for similar purposes has to do with the quality of the steel that was used in their initial construction. Inferior metal and additives went into the Tacoma’s leaf springs, and as a result they are not nearly as durable as those built by the competition. Lin also said that he has noticed that Tacoma owners “love their trucks,” and as a result may be more prone to overload them a bit in daily use.
Are There Any Quick Fixes?
Square-Stub-Axle-with-Hubs_4
Firestone air bags for the Tinmy
We were curious as to whether Bryan had any advice for Tacoma owners who were looking to prevent their stock springs from being damaged. He told us that ensuring that the truck never carries more than its GVWR in terms of cargo hauling or trailer towing is a great place to start. He also recommended the use of helper springs to help the suspension system better manage loads. Firestone air bags and Timbren Load Boosterscan also do a lot to reduce suspension stress for the Tacoma.
Timbren Load Boosters for the Tinmy
Stock or Aftermarket Replacements?
Linalso had some words of wisdom for those who have decided that they want to get off of the stock Tacoma suspension merry-go-round and install a more robust set of aftermarket leaf springs. He said that anyone with average mechanical capabilities can easily replace their own leaf springs, as long as they had all of the parts needed – including U-bolts, eye bolts, shackles, and bushings – as well as the required tools. The entire job can be done with a set of jack stands, basic wrenches and sockets, a hammer and pry bar and a good lug wrench or impact gun.
Bryan actually recommends using aftermarket leaf springs rather than factory Tacoma parts should replacements be needed – and not just because he sells them. Aftermarket Tacoma leaf springs are cheaper and stronger than stock components, and they are built to the same OEM specifications which means that they will fit perfectly without any need for modification. Lin says that for most drivers, the best option is to avoid heavy duty leaf spring packs and just go for a direct stock replacement with an additional helper system such as the ones listed above. This will help avoid a harsh ride when the truck is empty while offering better performance when it is under load.
Don’t Replace Just One Leaf Pack
One caveat from Bryan for Tacoma owners replacing their leaf springs: make sure to replace both sides at the same time, even if only one seems to be damaged. Replacing in pairs makes sure that you will have the same, predictable suspension response in all driving situations and reduces the chance of unsightly body lean. It’s also a good idea to consider replacing the stock shocks at the same time, either with factory units or heavy duty Bilstein shocks, in order to keep your entire suspension system as up-to-date as possible.
We really appreciate Bryan Lin taking the time to help explain the options available to Tacoma owners who are frustrated with stock leaf spring problems. He can be reached through the leafspringforsale.com for further assistance.(Trailer Leaf springs)

Leaf Spring FAQ for tinmy

Leaf-spring-banner
Q: Are Trailer leaf springs sold individually or in pairs?
A: All of our replacement leaf springs are sold individualy in the case that someone needs to replace a broken or damaged spring on one side. However, it is recommended to replace leaf springs in pairs so that you do not lean towards the side that has the older spring on it.
Q: Do leaf springs come with bushings?
A: The majority of our leaf springs will come with standard rubber bushings already pressed into the eyes of the spring.
Q: Is there a heavy duty spring available for my truck?
A: Almost every vehicle we work with can be upgraded with a heavy duty leaf spring. This can come in two fashions, a heavier spring that could have came stock from that vehicle (example 43-818 for Ford), or an HD spring that is made in the aftermarket but would have never been found on the vehicle to begin with (example 43-818HD for Ford).
Q: Where do your boat trailer leaf springs ship from?
A: With warehouses spread across the United States in California, Texas, Atlanta (GA), Las Vegas, New York, Pennsylvania, and Oklahoma, most leaf spring shipments should arrive in 3 business days or less. We do offer expedited shipping on leaf spring parts and accessories if you do need your parts in a hurry.
Q: What does spring rate mean?
A: Spring rate is measured in ppi or pounds per inch. Spring rate refers to the amount of pressure required to compress a spring.
Q: What is the difference between Add-A-Leaf Kits and Replacement Leaf Springs?
A: Depending on the situation, an entire Leaf Spring replacement may be necessary in order to eliminate issues within the suspension of your vehicle. Add-A-Leaf kits on the other hand, are individual leaves that are added to an already existing spring pack when extra load support is required.
Q: Should I replace my U-Bolts with my Leaf Springs?
A: Yes. We STRONGLY recommend you replace your u-bolts at the same time that you are replacing your leaf springs. Old and worn out u-bolts can cause stress cracks and breaks within your leaf springs and the risk of instability and safety is never worth it.
Q: What are some of the features of the leaf springs that you offer?
A: All leaf springs are OEM replacement parts that have been powder coated to protect from rust and other weather elements. These leaf springs are made to fit and additional hardware is readily available throughout the rest of our site. Feel free to check out our u-bolts and eye bolts. To further help you in deciding the right leaf spring for your vehicle, we have Leaf Springs for Truck, SUV, Van reviews and ratings, with a average rating of 5 out of 5 based on 8 ratings throughout.
Q: Where are your leaf spring replacements manufactured?
A: We we deal with a wide range of manufacturers both overseas as well as local. However, all of our springs are designed with the same specifications and materials as the vehicle’s manufacturer. All leaf springs that we offer are put through extensive quality testing before we stock them in our warehouses to ensure you receive springs that are the same quality as the OEM leaf springs.
