UltraBOOST, NMD, Yeezy… What comes to your mind after these words? For me, it‘s none other than adidas brand. These adidas‘s models are on top of the sneaker game right now – everybody talks about them, everybody is willing to cop a pair, they everywhere.
But how about some heat from the past? The moder body with old school soul – adidas EQT SUPPORT ADV.
So today I‘m going to review the adidas EQT SUPPORT ADV, one of the most iconic shoe back in the day that cares over its greatness in today’s shoe industry.
Let‘s get it!
We have a huge variety of different materials working together nicely to make wearing experience A1. The two-tone Primeknit covers approximately 2/3 quarters of the whole upper and that it’s mad comfy!
Although, this isn’t the Primeknit that everyone is familiar with. It’s quite thicker and less stretchy but it actually offers more support & foot containment, while keeping comfort at a high level. So for those who missed out some support from other Primeknit models, here’s an ideal option for you to consider buying.
Going along the toe area, we have the synthetic nubuck overlays with reflective panels on both sides – looks really nice when light hits them up at night. Also, it acts as a support feature as well, protecting your foot from that side to side action.
Finally, on the midfoot & heel area there’s a pink suede layer which spices everything up and gives the shoe that pop out look.
While the Ultra BOOST is giving us the best possible cushion experience, the adidas AVD’s cushion setup is offering us quite firmer one -molded EVA midsole. I mean, it’s exactly what you expect to get for paying 110 bucks. Quite frankly, I found this setup performing almost on the same level as the NMD does, so it’s by any means not a bad cushioning at all.
If you’re going to compare them with TOP sneakers, they just simply not going to meet your requirements and expectations, it’s that simple. You need to look at them from different perspective – no compares, just another lifestyle sneaker with different experience. And then you will enjoy them as much as I did.
It’s going to be a short one since these sneakers are strictly created for lifestyle, so traction isn’t an important department to look at.
One thing I can really tell and that’s the midsole’s durability. You’re not going to wear them down soon due to additional rubber overlays on most wear down areas – toe & heel.
Other than that, the outsole features huge dots that also increase the over durability and adds some grip as well.
That’s no way they’re going to suck at this department as long as the Primeknit upper is there, no freaking way. The one piece bootie construction offers super comfy one-to-one fit, solid breathability, enough stretchibility and, again, with support roots from the old version.
You have a lot of freedom with Primeknit, so for wide footers I recommend going true to size. Regular/narrow footers might want to go ½ a size down to receive that awesome & snug fit.
Still, the modern version has brought back some of the support features and that’s more than enough for a urban style sneaker.
There’s the semi-translucent external heel counter which is actually connected with the lacing system. So when you lace them up, the heel counter pushes and locks your heel in place and secures midfoot section. Moving forward, we have 3-straps that protect your foot from rolling over the footbed and this piece acts as a lacing system as well (something similar to the UltraBOOST’s cage but a little bit lighter)
Lastly, the wide base ensures great stability everywhere you go.

MATERIALS
A LOT OF IS GOING ON RIGHT HEREWe have a huge variety of different materials working together nicely to make wearing experience A1. The two-tone Primeknit covers approximately 2/3 quarters of the whole upper and that it’s mad comfy!

CUSHION
DON’T EXPECT TO MUCHWhile the Ultra BOOST is giving us the best possible cushion experience, the adidas AVD’s cushion setup is offering us quite firmer one -molded EVA midsole. TRACTION

FIT

SUPPORT
‘90s EQT model was created exceptionally for running – superb traction & killer support. However, the new version of EQT came back as a lifestyle sneaker with no running in mind. We have tons of running shoes in today’s sneaker industry, so it’s not a heart breaking deal for me.Still, the modern version has brought back some of the support features and that’s more than enough for a urban style sneaker.
